RANKS, PROMOTIONS & HIGH-RANK RESTRICTIONS

This page outlines all rules regarding character ranks, promotions, and restrictions for high-ranking shinobi on the NarutoRP server. These rules ensure fairness, proper progression, and maintain immersion in the world of Konohagakure.

Rank Structure

The server follows a structured rank system for shinobi characters. Each rank comes with assigned power, chakra, health, and IC responsibilities:

  • Academy Student – Beginner rank; starting point for all new characters.
  • Apprentice Genin / Genin / Confirmed Genin – Junior-level shinobi learning core techniques.
  • Tokubetsu Chūnin – Mid-level shinobi, capable of basic leadership and missions.
  • Chūnin / Confirmed Chūnin – Experienced ninja; eligible for leadership roles only via Kage or village assembly.
  • Tokubetsu Jōnin / Jōnin / Jonin Commander – Advanced shinobi; can lead squads or missions; promotion requires Kage or village assembly.
  • Sanin – Legendary ninja; rank assigned exclusively by management.
  • Kage – Village leader; rank assigned exclusively by management.

Note: Players may only start in factions at the lowest rank (Academy Student) to encourage progression and fair roleplay.

Promotion Rules

Promotion Timing
- Academy & Genin: 24-hour minimum between promotions. - Tokubetsu Chūnin: 48-hour minimum between promotions. - Promotions above Tokubetsu Chūnin (Chūnin confirmed, Jōnin, Tokubetsu Jōnin, Jonin Commander) require approval by the Kage or a village assembly of highest-ranking shinobi. - Sanin & Kage ranks are staff-only and cannot be obtained through normal promotion.

Transfers & Rehirings
Players removed from a faction may only rejoin at a similar rank after 24 hours. Any promotion exceeding Tokubetsu Chūnin still requires Kage or village assembly approval.

Village Assembly
For IC legitimacy, promotions above Tokubetsu Chūnin must be validated by either: 1. Kage approval, or 2. A village assembly consisting of the current highest-ranking shinobi. This reflects the Naruto lore concept of collective decision-making for top-tier ninja appointments.

High-Ranking Restrictions

Single High-Rank Limit
Each player may maintain only one character at the rank of Sanin or Kage. Additional characters at these levels will be un-whitelisted or removed to prevent rank-stacking and OOC advantage.

Staff-Only Ranks
Sanin and Kage are assigned only by server management. Players cannot self-promote or bypass this restriction.

FAQ

Q: Can someone be hired directly at a high rank?
A: No. All new characters must start at the lowest rank. Exceptions require Super Administrator approval.

Q: Can a deputy take over for their superior?
A: Promotions of up to 2 ranks may be approved with staff oversight. Any promotion above Tokubetsu Chūnin still requires Kage or assembly approval.

Q: Can I return to a previous rank after leaving a faction?
A: Yes, with Super Administrator approval, you may return at a rank equivalent to your prior position.

Enforcement Notice
Violations of promotion or rank rules may result in demotion, un-whitelisting, or character removal. Staff decisions are final.
